In 2023, Asia-Pacific Security and Maritime Affairs was successfully selected as a source journal of Chinese Social Science Citation Index (CSSCI) (2023-2024). This is another good achievement after being selected as the directory of CSSCI extended source journals for consecutive years in 2019 and 2021, and as a AMI core journal in 2022.

Asia-Pacific Security and Maritime Affairs always adheres to the correct political and academic orientation, closely serves the development strategies of the Party Central Committee and China. It takes the responsibility of promoting academic innovation by flourishing academic and policy research. The editorial board insists on the tenet of focusing on academics, theories and realism, pays close attention to the changes in the world pattern and hot issues. It opens the columns of Asia-Pacific Hot Spot Analysis, Regional Security Discussion, Ocean Dynamics Observation, South China Sea Thematic Research, and International Politics and Economics Focus, so as to combine the academic research with the policy research, and the domestic research with the international research, and to maintain a high academic standard and the quality of editing and publishing.

After years of efforts and development, Asia-Pacific Security and Maritime Affairs has become a platform for Chinas regional security and maritime research results, and has gradually formed an academic brand with considerable visibility and influence in the field of international politics and Chinas foreign affairs research.

In the future, Asia-Pacific Security and Maritime Affairs will stick to the high degree of unity between politics and academics, give full play to the strengths of cross-disciplines, and combine basic and applied research, so as to contribute to the prosperity of the Asia-Pacific regional security and marine-related research, promote the development of discipline construction, and enhance academic leadership and innovation. It endeavors to be a high-quality academic journal integrating the functions of an academic innovator, a high-end think-tank, and a platform for talent cultivation and international exchanges, in an effort to better realize the social value of the journal.
