Delegation of Asia-Africa Development Research Institute of Development Research Center of the State Council, P.R.C visit Collaborative Innovation Center of South China Sea Studies

On May 9, 2023, delegation of Asia-Africa Development Research Institute of Development Research Center of the State Council, P.R.C visited the Collaborative Innovation Center of South China Sea Studies to have an in-depth discussion with Professor Zhu Feng, Executive Director of the Center and Editor-in-Chief of Asia-Pacific Security and Maritime Affairs, on how to improve the operation of the Journal.

The delegation pointed out that Asia-Pacific Security and Maritime Affairs has reached a milestone stage after more than ten years of development. On March 17, 2023, Asia-Pacific Security and Maritime Affairs is awarded as a core journal in the “Comprehensive Evaluation of Chinese Humanities and Social Sciences Journals AMI”, representing its increasing professionalism and academic attractiveness. In addition, they made three comments on the future development of the journal: firstly, the manuscript quality needs to be further improved, secondly, the staff management needs to be optimized, and finally, the journal needs to enhance its global influence.

Executive Director Zhu Feng expressed a warm welcome to the visit of the delegation, and affirmed the comments and suggestions carried out by them. Zhu expressed that he would make targeted planning for the future development of the journal by optimizing the journal’s contracting method, improving personnel allocation and management, and launching the journal’s English promotion plan. In the future, the center will continue to enhance the communication with the Institute and jointly promote the further development of Asia-Pacific Security and Maritime Affairs.

Founded in 1994, Asia-Pacific Security and Maritime Affairs is a bimonthly academic journal supervised by Development Research Center of the State Council and sponsored by Asia-Africa Development Research Institute of Development Research Center of the State Council, P.R.C and the Collaborative Innovation Center of South China Sea Studies of Nanjing University. It has been  identified as one of the “2022 High Reprint Journals”, and the three statistical indexes of reprint volume, reprint rate and reprint index of political science journals have been listed. The authors of that, Yang Jiexian, Qin Yaqing, Yang Guangbin, Ren Jiantao, Zhu Feng and Ling Shengli, were selected as the authors of the “List of Important Reprint Sources of Reprinted Newspaper and Materials (2022 Edition)” in 2019-2021, accounting for 11.3% of the 53 selected authors in Political Science. (Translate/Bao Yiwen)
